  • rain thunder/lighting+ cricket & Funnel cloud

Well i went to the cricket match last friday in the end, i took the gamble dispite the looks of the weather all morning and the fact we had constant light rain during the morning before i left, I'm glad i did in the end as it turned out to be great entertainment throughout the afternoon, with the likes of Jimmy Adams/Henry Olonga/Greg blewett/Nantie Hayward all in the Lashings side.

The Lashings side batted first and scored 138 of there 30 overs with only Henry Olonga scoring over 50, I'm not sure but i think the fact Bunburys had at least 18 in the field at one time may have helped keep the score down for them this yr as last yr Lashing rattled up 270.

The Bunburys batting was pretty good with a couple of minor celebsish ppl with Chris sutton and James Major playing for them, the only unfortunate note to the after noone was James Major being carried off the pitch and taken to hospital by ambulance due to an ankle injury while batting, The rest of the Bunburys innings was none evetful and after there 30 overs the match ended as a draw with them also scoring 138 in there alloted overs.

In the closing overs about 19:00pm the weather did change for the worst with the rain starting to fall and thunder and lightning flashing and rumbling around the area, thankfully the main fury of the storm hit just as i got in the car to go home.

I had phoned work during the tea inteval to see how things were going and if anything needed my attention, My colleague who i spoke to told me a customer had just phoned and said he had just taken a picture of what he thought was a tornado that could be seen from his back garden, as it turned out from reports in the local press later it hadnt touched down so was only classed as a funnel cloud, still fer this time of yr were havin some odd weather.

Also having 3days off work did feel really weird.

  • Wet wicket

Well tomorrow i've planned to play hookey from the fun factory and go watch a local charity cricket match featuring the Lashings team, i went for the first time last year and it was a cracking afternoons entertainment.

As the weather the past week or so has been a little changeable to say the least, this week i've been keeping an eye on the long range forcasts.

up until yesterday it wasnt looking to bad with light sporadic showers for the area being forcast, well since yesterday afternoon there no longer forcasting sporadic light showers........now its heavey rain and thunder storms :( .

Fingers crossed the met office is wrong and i can get a day of R&R, if it does get rainded off the ray of sunshine for me is i'm on a 3day weekend as its not my turn to work this saturday yaaaaaaaaaay me :)
